- - Julep | Naughty & Nice Mystery Box 2014 Review - -

Hi friends!

Today is the fourth day that I'm stuck in bed with a fever. Sigh...it sucks being sick. On the bright side - I get more time than usual (even though a lot of my time is filled with sleeping and watching Family Guy) to work on more content for my blog.

For today's post I wanted to share with you the 2014 Naughty & Nice Mystery Box from Julep. This mystery box cost $24.99 and promised to contain goodies valued at over $150+. In 2013 (just like with the Diamond Mystery Box) Julep also had a Naughty & Nice Mystery Box. I wonder if there will be a Diamond Mystery Box and a Naughty & Nice Mystery Box in 2015 as well?

Let's take a closer look at the 2014 Naughty & Nice Mystery Box right after the jump!

* Please note that all of the prices are in US dollars. *

1 || Nail Polish || $14.00 (Non-Maven) / $11.20 (Maven) each

natural lighting

Top to Bottom:
Jessie (Bombshell) || Deep Kalamata crème
Sue (Classic with a Twist) || Antique rose shimmer
Patricia (Bombshell) || Deep plum shimmer
Mary Lee (Boho Glam) || Oxblood satin
Fiore (It Girl) || Espresso brown crème

I didn't realize that I don't have a picture of the polishes by themselves, so we'll just have to make do with the couple of swatch photos that I do have.

Sue and Patricia were exclusives for this mystery box, but you can still purchase them through their individual pages linked above. Sue, Patricia, and Jessie were all new to my collection. I picked up Mary Lee back in September but it's a nice polish so I'm happy to have another one. Fiore is still one of my favourite nail polishes, so I am happy to see it again as well, although I most likely will end up gifting it.

2 || Hand and Cuticle Stick || $22.00 (Non-Maven) / $17.60 (Maven)

So this is pretty cool and something that I can't say I own despite being a Maven for almost two years now! This hand and cuticle stick is pretty self-explanatory - it helps to moisturize dry hands and cuticles, which is something I suffer from really badly in the wintertime. It's super fun and easy to use and is a great alternative to hand cream. The scent is light, but I can see it being a bit overwhelming for some people.

I don't know if the stick is supposed to have a grainy layer on top and a bit on the side, but if anything it is easy to just wipe it off.

3 || Rock Star Hand Crème || $20.00 (Non-Maven) / $16.00 (Maven)

I used to have this hand cream earlier last year and I really liked it, so I'm glad to get a full-sized version of it again. The hand cream is very moisturizing and it has a strong but pleasant fragrance.

The way to open the hand cream is to just twist the cap slightly and squeeze the cream out. Then just twist the cap back

4 || Time Machine: Age-Defying Duo for Hands || $40.00 $14.99 (On sale!)

This is another product from Julep that I have never tried before.

This set contains two items: a glycolic peel-off mask and an oil-free sunscreen with an SPF 30.

Since the hands are one of the areas that shows early signs of ageing, it makes sense to take care of them well.

I haven't tried either product in the set yet, but I've read reviews that have said that the peel-off mask makes hands look brighter, which is pretty neat.

The peel-off mask comes with a little brush that you can use to apply the cream. To use the peel-off mask you simply brush on a thin layer of the cream onto your hands and wait for the cream to dry. Afterwards just peel the layer off and follow up with Solace, the oil-free sunscreen provided.

The sunscreen has the same applicator as the Rock Star hand cream - you just twist the cap slightly and the cream comes out of the centre.

|| Total Value: $152.00 (non-Maven/non-sale) | $104.59 (Maven/sale) ||

I think this mystery box was another winner for me! I definitely have to agree that Julep has been making their mystery boxes a lot better in the last few months compared to earlier in 2014. I'm pretty happy with everything I got and I'm pretty confident that I'll get use out of everything.

Have you guys gotten any of the recent Julep mystery boxes? Have you seen them improve over time?

You don't have to be a Julep Maven to purchase mystery boxes, but if you would like to sign up for the Maven monthly subscription and would like to use my referral link, you can do so here. Use code FROSTY to a get a winter-themed complimentary first box. Thank you kindly in advance!
